Public Housing

Public housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The NBHA owns and operates 392 units of public housing located on three (3) Asset Management project (AMP's) sites within the City of New Brunswick:

Schwartz Homes and Robeson Village (AMP 1)
Schwartz Homes and Robeson Village, locally called Schwartz-Robeson, is a multi-family development that has 260 units comprised of one, two, three, and four-bedroom garden-style apartments.

Hoffman Pavilion (AMP 2)
Under Construction

Hope Manor / Riverside Complex (AMP 3)
Built between 2001 and 2005, Hope Manor / Riverside Complex is part of the NBHA's Hope VI Revitalization Grant Program. The development consist of 144 units of affordable housing (72 are public housing units and 72 are State Tax Credit units). This multi-family development has one, two, three, and four-bedroom units as well as 9,625 square feet of commercial rental space.
